Because SMM parents are now in the habit of regularly checking Edline, the Parents’ Club has decided to save a few trees (and a few dollars) and publish ONLY an electronic version of its newsletter.

Parents’ Club Board nominations open
Nominations for positions on the 2010-2011 SMM Parents’ Club Executive Board opened Wed., March 3, 2010 and will close at the end of the April 2010 general meeting on Wed., April 14. Anyone who would like to nominate someone (including yourself) for a position on the executive board -- President, First Vice President, Second Vice President, Treasurer, Recording Secretary and Corresponding Secretary -- should either fill in the form that was sent home with the students and return it to school in an envelope marked “Cheryl Braud-Parliamentarian c/o Abigail Braud, 5th grade, room 18” OR contact Parents’ Club Parliamentarian Cheryl Braud at 504-461-5905. The Nominating Committee will present the slate of candidates for office at the beginning of the May 2010 meeting on Wed., May 5, voting will take place and the new officers will be announced at the end of the meeting.

Hungry? Ground Pat’i!
The Parents’ Club is sponsoring a Ground Pat’i day on Thurs., March 18. Take a break from cooking, go to Ground Pat’I at 1324 David Drive, tell them you’re from St. Mary Magdalen and the restaurant will donate 10 percent of all SMM purchases to the Parents’ Club.

Volunteers needed
The Parents’ Club is responsible for serving refreshments in the cafeteria on Wed., March 24 after the 7 p.m. Parish Lenten Mission service. Anyone who would like to help set up, serve and clean up is welcome. All help is greatly appreciated.

Grandparents, students enjoy special day
The Parents’ Club would like to thank all of the volunteers who helped make this year’s Grandparents’ Days such a success. The events were well attended and the students and their grandparents consumed 140 dozen donuts, 33 total gallons of milk and orange juice and six pots of coffee!
